Employment Opportunities

Capstone Fire Management Inc. is now accepting applications for the position of Driver Operator and Captain for wildland fire patrol in San Diego and Orange Counties. Typical duties include working 12 hour shifts on Type 6 engines, conducting fire safety briefings for electrical workers, conducting apparatus checks, completing daily training, taking weather, providing first aid firefighting in the event of an ignition and providing emergency medical services for utility workers constructing and maintaining electrical lines. On occasion personnel will work a 24 hour shift during red flag warnings and high wind events, as well as after hour’s standby. Captains typically report to an Agency Representative. All personnel work a 6 days on, 6 days off schedule during wildland fire season. Minimum requirements include being 21 years of age, having a clean driver’s license and passing a comprehensive drug & background check. Current EMT certification is highly desirable. Minimum Qualifications: 21 years old Eighteen months or more years of wildland firefighting experience Valid Drivers License Valid medical certification card (DL 51A) Clean background. 

Minimum Training Requirements: (NWCG 310-1: FFT-1) S-131, S-133, S-211, S-212, S-215 and S-216, California State Fire Marshal Driver Operator 1. Basic First Aid, CPR and EMT desirable. This position requires a signed task book.  Back to Positions List

Driver Operator 2

Minimum Qualifications: 21 years old Eighteen months or more years of wildland firefighting experience Valid Drivers License, Class B Valid medical certification card (DL 51A) Clean background.

Minimum Training Requirements: (NWCG 310-1: FFT-1) S-131, S-133, S-211, S-212, S-215 and S-216 California State Fire Marshal Driver Operator 1 and 2. Basic First Aid, CPR and EMT desirable. This position requires a signed task book.  Back to Positions List

Shift Supervisor- Senior Captain

Capstone Fire Management is now accepting applications for the position of Shift Supervisor/Senior Captain for Wildland fire patrol in San Diego and Orange Counties serving utility companies. Typical duties include working 12 hour shifts to supervise up to 8 Type 6 engine crews, tracking resources and working with the Agency Representative and Fire Coordinators. On occasion may work a 24 hour shift during red flag warnings and high wind events, as well as some after hour’s standby. Shift Supervisors/Senior Captains typically will be working a 6 days on and 6 day off schedule in the San Diego area, but may job share with other qualified Shift Supervisors/Senior Captains. Standard California Over time rules apply. Minimum requirements include having 10 years of paid professional fire service experience, 5 of those years at the level of Captain or higher, Strike Team Leader (Division Group Supervisor desirable) and having the capability to supervise various crews, track resources within the Incident Command System, conducting field audits of crews performance and providing a high level of communication to the Fire Coordinators and Agency Representatives.
