Rural/Metro Fire Department, Inc., doing business as, Capstone Fire & Safety Management (Capstone) is a part of the Global Medical Response solution of companies.

Capstone has over 20 years’ experience in a wide variety of complex incidents involving fire, rescue, and hazmat response. In partnership with our customers, we provide experienced chief officers, fire marshals and other firefighting and safety personnel to deliver customized emergency and non-emergency services to support their employees, critical assets, and infrastructure.

Capstone operations utilize strict chain-of-command leadership which supports interagency cooperation. Capstone follows proven policies, procedures, and guidelines to manage the quality of our services. We adhere to Federal and State Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA/CALOSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines to ensure safety compliance on each project.

Capstone has a robust EHS (Employee Health and Safety) and IIPP (INJURY & ILLNESS PREVENTION PROGRAM) programs in place that are vetted by ISNetworld and Avetta.

The customers we support are private industry as well as government agencies within the critical infrastructure segments such as utility providers, petrochemical facilities, insurance carriers, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service, Department of Defense, FEMA, and Department of Homeland Security.

Company known formerly as Fire Stop with niche specialization in defensible space vegetation management and wildland firefighting for US Forest Services.

New ownership group and company name change. Major investments made in company infrastructure.

Company partners with major utility sector clients providing specialized critical infrastructure protection in wildfire prone areas.

Service offerings expand to include all-risk industrial firefighting services, confined space rescue and OSHA compliant safety services.

Company expands operations serving critical infrastructure including chemical and petroleum customers. Continued to renew contracts with legacy accounts.

Expansion continues by developing international partnerships and opening an operations facility in the Gulf States region outside of Houston, Texas.

Growth continues adding customers from the Power Generation sector.
